Executive board
AIMS is proud to include on its staff highly trained clinicians with years of experience in acute care of adult inpatients. Our staff members are all board certified or board eligible and all participate regularly as faculty in graduate and post-graduate medical education programs.
Rajika Lasitha Munasinghe, MD, MS, MBA, FACP
-President, Academic Internal Medicine Specialists
Dr. Rajika Munasinghe is board certified in internal medicine, with a masters degree is biostatistics and epidemiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin and a MBA from the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Dr. Munasinghe completed his residency at Wayne State University, and now serves as a clinical associate professor at the school. He has been associate program director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Sinai-Grace since 2000. At AIMS, Dr. Munasinghe oversees the financial operations, information systems and strategic planning of the organization as well as providing inpatient hospital care. He recently earned his master’s in business administration (MBA) from Michigan State University’s Executive MBA Program.
Marc Feldman, MD, FACP

Dr. Marc Feldman is a board-certified internist with a specialty in geriatric medicine. A graduate of WSU School of Medicine, he has served as associate program director for the Internal Medicine Training Program at Sinai-Grace since 1994. Dr. Feldman has taught at WSU for more than 20 years and is clinical assistant professor of medicine at MSU School of Medicine. He continues to be the coordinator for medical grand rounds at Sinai-Grace.
Shazia Essani, MD

Dr. Shazia Essani is a board-certified internist and has been assistant program director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the hospital since 2005, conducting teaching rounds and lectures for medical students, interns and residents. She is clinical assistant professor at both WSU and MSU School of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing her residency in internal medicine at Sinai-Grace, Dr. Essani joined the teaching faculty at the hospital where she is also on staff today. She is also a clinical assistant professor at WSU.

Dr. Niluka Weerakoon is a board-certified internist who completed her medical education at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and her residency in Internal medicine at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital.She is currently working as a hospitalist at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital
Anuradha Sreenivasan, MD

Dr. Aldurah is board-certified in Internal Medicine. He completed his residency at Unity Hospital, Rochester NY. Since then, he has worked as a hospitalist. He is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Malitha Hettiarachchi, MD

A board-certified internist, Dr. Hettiarachchi completed her medical education at University of Colombo Sri Lanka and a residency at WSU/DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, where she served as a chief medical resident. She serves as a clinical assistant professor both at WSU School of Medicine and MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hettiarachchi is also an active clinical researcher and has presented her research in many national-level medical conferences. Her clinical interest areas are cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, diabetes, preventative care, quality improvement and medical education.
Lawrence S. Lackey, Jr., MD, FACP
Dr. Lawrence Lackey, Jr., is board-certified internist. A graduate of WSU School of Medicine, Dr. Lackey holds positions on many committees at DMC, including chairman of the ethics committee. An educator, Dr. Lackey is an assistant professor and clinical educator at WSU, conducting general medicine teaching rounds and teaching courses on internal medicine and physical diagnosis.
Sandra A. Jones-Lackey, MD
Dr. Sandra Jones-Lackey is a graduate of WSU School of Medicine and currently serves as the associate director of the Sinai-Grace Ambulatory Internal Medicine Clinic. An instructor at WSU, Dr. Jones-Lackey supervises residents at the Clinic in addition to teaching courses in physical diagnosis and ambulatory medicine.
Robert Walker, MD
Robert Walker, MD, is a graduate of WSU School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the WSU Affiliated Program/DMC Hutzel Hospital. After years in private practice, he joined the faculty at Sinai-Grace Hospital Department of Internal Medicine in 1990. He has clinical faculty appointments at both WSU School of Medicine as Clinical Instructor and at MSU College of Human Medicine as Clinical Assistant Professor. With more than 30 years of experience in both ambulatory care and inpatient medicine, he is currently active teaching medical students and residents at two ambulatory care sites.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine and has presented her research at many medical conferences. She is now site director and provides in-patient care at St. Mary Livonia.

Raneev Jose, MD, completed her residency in internal medicine through the WSU/DMC program following undergraduate training in India.
Arunalatha Vommi, MD
Arunalatha vommi , MD, is a board-certified internist , completed medical education in India in NTR university of health sciences. She completed her residency at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in 2013, and has extensive experience working in the hospital’s ICU as well as outpatient clinic. . She is an active member of the American College of Physicians, and has presented posters and clinical case reports in regional as well as national ACP meetings.

Dr. Shobana Sankar is a board-certified internist who completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Mercy St.Vincent Medical Center, Ohio & medical education at the Stanley Medical College, Chennai(India). She is a active member of American College of Physicians . She is currently working as a Hospitalist at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak & Providence Hospital in Southfield.
Daniyeh Khurram, MD
Dr Daniyeh Khurram is a board-certified internist. She completed her medical education from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan and internal medicine residency training from Providence Hospital, Michigan, US. She is currently working as a hospitalist at Beaumont hospital in Royal Oak and Providence Hospital in Southfield.
